Subject: | Correction: HB 640 - Jurors addresses |
Due to HB 640 (2015-16) being introduced with an error, I will be introducing legislation to take its place. The intent of the legislation stays the same. The correct legislation will amend Title 42 - Judiciary and Judicial Procedure - to exempt the names and addresses of jurors from public access. Under my proposal, agencies that maintain records regarding jurors would not be permitted to release identifying information regarding jurors to the public. However, an individual juror would not be precluded from releasing such information voluntarily. Many jurors preside over high profile cases and they have the right to be protected as this is a civic duty and not one that they choose to do. I would appreciate if those members who were already on HB 640 in February 2015, would resubmit their names for cosponsor to the correct language: BAKER, BARRAR, BISHOP, V. BROWN, COHEN, D. COSTA, DAVIS, DIAMOND, DRISCOLL, A. HARRIS, KAUFFMAN, KILLION, MARSHALL, McNEILL, MENTZER, MOUL, MURT, O'NEILL, PICKETT, READSHAW, ROZZI, SCHLOSSBERG, SCHWEYER, STEPHENS, THOMAS, TOEPEL, WATSON, ZIMMERMAN, MAJOR, CUTLER, McCARTER, M. K. KELLER, GABLER and MILNE If you have any questions, please contact Amy anoel@pahousegop.com or call my office 717-783-1918 Thank you! |
