Subject: | Indoor and Outdoor Recreation During COVID-19 |
We plan to introduce legislation that will permit indoor and outdoor recreational sports and activities to occur under the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines at increased occupancy limits. House Bill 2787, allowing school districts the ability to determine safe limits on gatherings for sporting events, was passed by the General Assembly with a veto-proof majority in both Chambers. However, this bill did not cover all sports and recreational activities, like ice hockey which may not be directly affiliated with a school. This legislation will build on the great efforts of House Bill 2787 and seeks to cover all other athletic and recreational activities. It will put the decision-making back in the hands of our local officials and ensure these activities occur safely. We hope you will join us in co-sponsoring this legislation. |
Introduced as SB1340
