Subject: School District Property Tax Payment and Penalty Relief
 
In the near future, I will introduce legislation to allow individual school districts the option to extend their property tax discount periods and their base periods, as well as remove penalties for payments through June 30, 2021. 
 
Legislation is currently being finalized to alleviate the pressure that municipal and county property taxes will have on taxpayers in the wake of the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This bill will seek to achieve that similar goal by providing school districts the same option to relieve property tax pressures on struggling families and businesses across this Commonwealth. 

Please join me as we look to provide relief to school property taxpayers and flexibility to local school districts during these unprecedented times.
