Subject: Designating October 2018 as Pennsylvania Chiropractic Health Month
In the very near future, I plan to introduce a resolution designating October 2018 as Pennsylvania Chiropractic Health Month. The purpose of this resolution is to commemorate the hard work done by Pennsylvania-licensed Doctors of Chiropractic that focus on the whole person in their care approach to pain management and health care.

Low back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal conditions and is the single leading cause of disability around the world. Years lived with disabilities caused by low back pain have increased 54 percent from 1999 to 2015.

Chiropractic care is one of the safest nondrug, noninvasive therapies available for effective non-opioid treatment of lower back pain and other musculoskeletal concerns.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution that joins the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association as it promotes its “Move4Life” campaign which highlights all the health benefits of movement.

Introduced as SR470
