Subject: | Cushing's Syndrome Awareness Day |
In the future, I am planning to introduce a resolution designating April 8, 2017 as “Cushing’s Syndrome Awareness Day” in PA. Cushing’s Syndrome is an endocrine disorder that is caused by an over-exposure of the body’s tissues to the hormone cortisol. Sometimes called “hypercortisolism”, this disease affects between 10 and 15 million people, most commonly between the ages of 20 and 50. It is important to educate the public about the symptoms of this disease in an effort to increase the rate of successful treatment. Please join me in support of this important initiative to increase awareness and educate the public about Cushing’s Syndrome. If you have any questions regarding this resolution, please contact Christine Zubeck in my office at 717-787-6123 or czubeck@pasen.gov. Thank you for your consideration. |
