| Subject: | Permanent Absentee Ballots for Disabled Voters |
| In the near future, I intend to reintroduce legislation (Prior HB 1765) that will improve our permanent absentee ballot program for our disabled constituents. Under current law, a permanently disabled voter must reapply for Pennsylvania’s permanent absentee ballot program every four years to maintain eligibility. This reapplication requirement is in addition to the initial application that requires supporting documentation from an attending physician certifying that the voter is permanently disabled and is consequently unable to vote in-person at a polling location. My legislation will remove the requirement that disabled voters must reapply every four years to be on the permanent absentee ballot list. Pennsylvania’s permanently disabled voters do not benefit from this unnecessary requirement. Please join me in cosponsoring this legislation. Prior Cosponsors: BERNSTINE, BOBACK, V.
