MEMORANDUM

Posted: May 12, 2015 05:20 PM
From: Representative Cris Dush
To: All House members
Subject: Local Gov’t Right to Work Policy Option

I plan to introduce legislation in the near future which allows counties flexibility in choosing the best labor practices for them.

Under my legislation any county across the state would be empowered to enact local Right to Work ordinances, if they choose to do so. Workers in these counties would not be forced to join a union or barred from employment because they did not wish to join a union. In addition this legislation would protect any public or private sector worker from losing their job because of they did not belong to a union. This legislation allows counties to exercise greater local control over their unique individual situations.
