Subject: | Amends the Workforce Development Act to expand the Keystone Works Program to include recent high school and college graduates. |
In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation amending the Workforce Development Act (Act 114 of 2001) to allow those who have graduated from high school or college within the last four years to participate in the job training opportunities provided under the Keystone Works Program. Currently, participation in the Keystone Works Program is confined to individuals collecting regular unemployment benefits. Graduates matched with a business would receive compensation equal to or exceeding the minimum wage for a maximum of 24 hours of paid training per week, up to eight weeks. I've attached a copy of the bill for your inspection and would kindly invite your co-sponsorship. Thank you. |
