Subject: | Keeping Properties on Third Class City Tax Rolls |
I will soon re-introduce legislation which would require counties to cooperate with cities in their efforts to revitalize their communities. As a former chairman of the Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee, I learned firsthand the importance of assisting our third class cities in keeping properties on the tax rolls. Specifically, the legislation would amend the County Code to prohibit a 4th class county from purchasing a property in a third class city, if the property is located in an area of the city targeted for revitalization, unless the affected city and school district have passed a resolution approving the purchase. If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me. |
Introduced as SB294
