Subject: Option for Counties to Hire Law Firm as Solicitor
 
In the near future I plan to introduce legislation to amend sections of the County Code to provide third- through eighth- class counties the option of contracting with a law firm to serve as a solicitor.

Current laws in the County Code only allow counties to hire or appoint an individual to serve as their solicitor. This bill proposes the option of using a law firm to fulfill this role to boards of commissioners as well as the row offices of controller, coroner, recorder of deeds, register of wills, sheriff and treasurer.
