Subject: | Health Care Cost Containment Council Feasibility Study (Formerly HB 80 of the 2011-2012 Legislative Session) |
In the near future, I plan to re-introduce legislation that would direct the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a feasibility study and cost analysis of establishing a Single Health Care Trust Fund for all Commonwealth employees. There are multiple health care plans that address the health care needs of different groups of Commonwealth employees. The Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Senate, Department of Corrections, Courts and Executive Staff, are just a few of the groups covered by various health care plans. The cost of health care has skyrocketed. A single Health Care Trust Fund program for all Commonwealth employees has the potential to generate considerable savings, maintain quality care and allow for expanded coverage of the uninsured with the savings. Please consider joining me in co-sponsoring this legislation. Prior co-sponsors: THOMAS , BISHOP , CALTAGIRONE , M. O'BRIEN , READSHAW , K.
