MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 21, 2012 12:01 PM
From: Representative Ryan P. Aument and Rep. Nick Miccarelli, Rep. Thomas P. Murt
To: All House members
Subject: Resolution Honoring the 10th Anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom

In the near future, we plan to introduce legislation honoring the 10th anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

As you may know, March of 2013 will mark the 10th anniversary of the commencement of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where United States and coalition forces began the mission to liberate Iraq from dictator Saddam Hussein and extend freedom and democracy throughout the region.

Additionally, thousands of Pennsylvania military servicemen and women have sacrificed so much to honorably serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 10th anniversary reminds citizens of our Commonwealth of all those who have served their missions with excellence, determination, patriotism, and bravery.

As the beneficiaries of the courage of these brave men and women who have sacrificed so much, sometimes making the ultimate sacrifice, it is important we express our appreciation and gratitude for their honorable and courageous acts. May we also recognize the anniversary of our mission to instill freedom and democracy to Iraq and protect this great country and our cherished liberties. In doing so, Pennsylvania should honor the 10th anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
