Brief Description
This amendment removes the limits on damages that currently apply for civil cases brought against government parties. Currently, there are monetary caps on the amount of damages that may be awarded and limits on the types of damages that may be recovered. For state government parties, damages are capped at $250,000 per plaintiff or $1,000,000 in aggregate. For local government parties, damages are capped at $500,000 in the aggregate.
