This amendment would insert amendments to §§1721, and 1722, that would delete application of the sections, relating to jail oversight boards, to counties of second and 2A class, and amend the heading of subchapter C to read, BOARD OF INSPECTORS. It would also add new subsection (d) to §1723, to provide any county which has adopted a home rule charter, may elect to be governed by the subchapter on jail oversight boards. The body of the bill is retained in section 4 of the amendment, with section 6. providing that the amendments to all sections, as well as the headings of subchapters B and C shall be effective retroactively to October 12, 2009.
