House Committee Roll Call Votes

This bill gives the Public Utility Commission the authority to approve the acquisition of a city natural gas distribution operation if the commission determines that such operation cannot reasonably be expected to furnish and maintain adequate, efficient, safe and reasonable services and facilities and no other alternatives to acquisition are viable and that the acquiring utility is capable as specified. The City of Philadelphia would first have to adopt an ordinance to approve the acquisition process to go forward.
