Subject: | Establishing Universal Pre-Kindergarten in Pennsylvania |
Requiring schools to provide universal pre-kindergarten and kindergarten will provide many more children in this Commonwealth with a high-quality early education, paying huge dividends in terms of ensuring that students have learned fundamental educational, social, and life skills which will serve as an important basis for their future education and success. Although there are proven economic benefits to early education programs that can help students become contributing members of society, the goal of pre-kindergarten and other early educational programs is to create educational environments and experiences that nurture children’s overall well-being and advancement. Please join me in ensuring that our children receive the best possible education and are engaged in the world around them. Indeed, our children are our future, and we must be committed to their success if this Commonwealth is to continue to thrive. |
