| Subject: | Congratulating Harrisburg Young Professionals on Their 25th Anniversary |
| Since its founding, Harrisburg Young Professionals (HYP) has served the Harrisburg area as a catalyst in developing and retaining future and current leaders. Thousands of members over the last decade have benefitted from HYP’s commitment to prevent the Pennsylvania “brain drain” while also bolstering local community. Founded in 1998 as part of the nationwide “back to the city” movement, HYP began as a way to bring together young professionals in the city of Harrisburg and encourage growth. Young professionals can make an area a great place to live, work, and raise a family. HYP creates a social environment that fosters this community, encourages networking among peers, and continues to serve as a fixture in the community 25 years after its founding. HYP’s success as an organization has impacted the Harrisburg area and individuals who may have benefitted from their many activities and services. My resolution recognizes the impact HYP has on the Harrisburg area and the commitment and dedication the board, leaders, and members have exhibited. I ask that you join me in cosponsoring this resolution. |
