Subject: | Allowing Club License Holders to Sell Malt Beverages for Off-Premises Consumption |
I am reintroducing the amended version of Senate Bill 194 (Printer’s Number 814) from the 2021-22 session. This legislation amends the Liquor Code to allow club license holders to sell malt beverages for off-premises consumption. Presently, the Liquor Code precludes a licensee holding a club license from selling malt or brewed beverages to customers for consumption off the licensed premises. Under the bill, a club licensee may not sell more than 192 fluid ounces in a single transaction. In addition, no sales of malt beverages can take place between 2 a.m. - 7a.m. A licensee who is subject to a pending objection from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), or who has been suspended under the licensee compliance program, is not eligible to sell these beverages. Co-sponsors of Senate Bill 194 were Senators Aument, Mastriano, Phillips-Hill, Stefano and Yaw. I ask you to join me in cosponsoring this legislation. If you have questions regarding this legislation, please reach out to Greg Beckenbaugh in my office at 717-787-5490 or gbeckenbaug@pasen.gov. |
