Subject: Waiving the License to Carry Firearm Application Fee for Active Military and Honorably Discharged Veterans
 
I will be reintroducing Senate Bill 1174 of the 2021-2022 legislative session, to waive the License to Carry Firearm application fee for active military and honorably discharged veterans.  This legislation was previously cosponsored by Senators Hutchinson, J. Ward, Bartolotta, Pittman, Langerholc and Mastriano.
 
This is one small way we can show our appreciation to our military members for defending our country and freedoms.  Ohio, West Virginia, Alabama, Arkansas and Texas have waived licensing fees to eligible active duty military or veterans through similar legislation.
