|Subject:||Public Meetings Prior to the Sale or Lease of a Municipal Asset|
|In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would require a municipality to have at least one publicly advertised meeting prior to finalizing an agreement to sell or lease a sewer or water system owned or operated by the municipality.
Additionally, potential purchasers of the system will be required to attend the public meeting.
This meeting requirement will ensure that residents of the municipality are well informed of any sale or lease that may impact the services that they are provided. Citizens will have the opportunity to ask questions and present their concerns before any sale is final.
I hope you join me as a co-sponsor. If you have any questions regarding this bill, please contact Joshua Herman in my office at firstname.lastname@example.org
