Subject: Designating April 2024 as “Safe Digging Month" in Pennsylvania
 
Please join me in co-sponsoring a resolution to designate the month of April 2024, as "Safe Digging Month" in Pennsylvania.
 
The Pennsylvania One Call System (PA 811) provides easy, one-call notification by utilities and contractors about construction and excavation projects that may endanger workers and jeopardize utility lines. Notification promotes safety, reduces underground utility damages, minimizes utility serve interruptions and protects the environment. Pennsylvania One Call System serves more than 100,000 excavators and over 3,600 critical infrastructure owners in this Commonwealth.
 
Each year, the One Call System receives over 1 million requests and transmits more than 6 million notifications to its members, providing protection to utilities, employees, and customers.

Please join me in recognizing this important service and designating April 2024 as “Safe Digging Month” in Pennsylvania.
