Subject: Condolence Resolution for Specialist Mackenzie L. Shay
 
It is with heartfelt sadness that I will be offering a condolence resolution to honor the life and service of Specialist Mackenzie L. Shay of New Castle, Lawrence County, who tragically lost her life on October 22, 2022, during a military training accident at Fort Indiantown Gap.

Specialist Shay is a graduate of Mohawk High School and was a Junior at Slippery Rock University majoring in safety management.

Specialist Shay enlisted the Pennsylvania National Guard at the age of 17. Upon enlistment, Specialist Shay served as an Army Petroleum Supply Specialist in the Distribution Platoon with the G Company of the 128th Brigade Support Battalion. The platoons’ duties are to provide field feeding, transportation, supply support and field maintenance including communication equipment and Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment to the Infantry Battalion.
