Subject: | Class A Lake Permits for Private Fishing/Boating, Rod and Gun or Sportsmen's Clubs |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation to allow private fishing and boating, rod and gun or sportsmen’s clubs with private lakes to obtain class A lake permits. Many of these organizations spend thousands of dollars a year to stock their waters with fish for their members. This legislation would ensure their members would not have to purchase fishing licenses to fish the club lakes, which their dues have paid to stock. Under this proposed bill, members of these organizations would also be authorized to catch, kill and possess fish from these private waters without regard to season, size or possession limits. Clubs would be required to pay the Class A lake fee and stocked fish would be required to be purchased from a hatchery within the boundaries of the Commonwealth. Please join me in cosponsoring this bill supporting Pennsylvania anglers. If you have any questions, please contact Ben Bush, of my staff, at 724-357-0151 or at bbush@pasen.gov. |
