Subject: | Designating August as “YMCA Advocacy Month” |
As the co-chairs of the YMCA Caucus, we will introduce a resolution to designate the month of August as “YMCA Advocacy Month” in Pennsylvania. Our Commonwealth has over 700,000 YMCA members with more than 180,000 individuals participating in programs and services offered by our local YMCAs for children, youth, families, and older adults. The YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility are modeled by their staff and volunteers for children, youth, and adult members. The YMCA promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As a charitable, nonprofit organization, they are committed to ensuring that no person is denied services for inability to pay. The YMCA upholds the standards of accountability, ethics, responsibility, and transparency entrusted upon it by the public as a charitable organization, standing as leaders of the nonprofit community. Please join us to recognize the many services and opportunities our local YMCAs provide to the people of Pennsylvania. |
