Subject: | Resolution Recognizing the Founding of the United States Army |
In the near future, we will offer a Resolution to recognize June 14th as the Founding of the United States Army. Since 1775 and the formation of the first Pennsylvania line, Pennsylvanians have always answered the call of duty for our nation. Of those currently serving our nation in the military, 45% are enlisted in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, and/or the Army Reserve. I was commissioned in the U.S. Army in 1986 and served in Operation Desert Storm and Afghanistan before retiring as a Colonel. Senator Aument served as a Captain in the Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom. We are proud to be counted among our fellow Pennsylvanians as Army combat veterans. This resolution will recognize the United States Army and the men and women who have served and continue to serve on our nation’s first line of defense. |
