Subject: | Designating the week of April 18-24 as National Osteopathic Medicine Week in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution marking April 18-24, 2021 as National Osteopathic Medicine week in Pennsylvania. There are currently 145,343 Osteopathic physicians (DOs) in the United States and Pennsylvania is home to more than any other state with over 8,500. The Commonwealth also boasts two colleges of Osteopathic medicine, the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). Pennsylvania’s Osteopathic physicians are dedicated to improving the health of all of our communities by delivering quality healthcare for their patients and our constituents using a hands-on, whole-body approach, which includes unique Osteopathic manipulative medicine, to diagnose health problems, treat dysfunctions, preserve good health and prevent the spread of disease. I am offering this resolution to honor Pennsylvania’s Osteopathic physicians in a celebration of National Osteopathic Medicine Week in Pennsylvania. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution. |
