MEMORANDUM

Posted: April 14, 2021 12:42 PM
From: Senator Michele Brooks
To: All Senate members
Subject: Vaccine Providers in Newspapers

I intend to introduce legislation that will require providers receiving state allocations of COVID-19 vaccine to publish what they’ve received on a weekly basis.

Despite the COVID-19 vaccine coming to Pennsylvania in December 2020, the administration is only just now developing a plan to vaccinate hard to reach populations, like our homebound, their in-home caregivers, seniors and adults receiving home and community-based services, and those needing transportation and other accommodations.

My legislation will require that every provider receiving state allocations of COVID-19 vaccine, including the Department of Health, publish when and where they have vaccine available, with a contact phone number in a newspaper of general circulation on a weekly basis.  The purpose of these advertisements will help to increase communication between those in these underserved communities and the providers receive vaccine doses.  During a time when there are limited providers receiving vaccines, everything possible must be done to reach those still waiting to be vaccinated.

Please join me in supporting this important legislation.
