| Subject: | Resolution recognizing PA’s contribution to Operation Desert Shield & Desert Storm. |
| In the near future, we intend to offer the following resolution, and we invite you to join us as a co-sponsor: Resolution recognizing PA’s contribution to Operation Desert Shield & Desert Storm. February marks the 30th anniversary of the conclusion of Operation Desert Storm. The conflict was an important moment in our nation’s military history, as the overwhelming victory was the fruit of decades of training and professionalism. Our resolution will commemorate all service members, as well as those who served in the Southwest Asia Theater of Operations in support of the liberation of Kuwait, and specifically focuses on the bravery, valor and sacrifice by Pennsylvanians. This resolution is particularly poignant in that Pennsylvania suffered unusually high casualties, after an Iraqi Scud missile hit a facility in Saudi Arabia that housed men and women from the western part of our state. Additionally, this resolution will mourn the loss of our state's heroes and remembers Pennsylvania's contribution to the liberation of Kuwait. Please join us in co-sponsoring this important measure. |
