Subject: Poll Worker Compensation Increase & Training Compensation Increase
 
I plan to introduce legislation which will increase the compensation for district election officers – poll workers – in Pennsylvania.  Additionally, this bill will also increase the compensation for instruction time for poll workers.

These individuals sacrifice their time and energy to ensure that elections are held fairly and provide voters with assistance in the process of in-person voting.  This increase in compensation, as well as increase in compensation for training, is in recognition of the dedication, work and sacrifice these poll worker provide to their local communities. It would also provide further incentive for individuals to either continuing to serve or new people to get engaged in the process.
