Subject: | Title 30 and 34 License Fee Changes |
In the near future, I plan on re-introducing legislation that change several aspects of Title 30 and Title 34 relating to license fees and requirements relating to active duty and veteran military personnel. This legislation would amend Title 30 in two ways. First it would give senior disabled veterans an opportunity to purchase a lifetime license for a discounted price. Also, it would allow for non-resident active duty military personnel stationed full time in Pennsylvania to qualify for the same discounted license that resident military personnel receive. In regards to Title 34 this legislation would do several things. First it would raise the time from six months to five years that a veteran has to have been removed from active duty to be required to take a hunter safety course. Second, it would give senior disabled veterans an opportunity to purchase a lifetime regular or combination license for a discounted price. Third, it would allow for non-resident active duty military personnel stationed full time in Pennsylvania to qualify for the same discounted license that resident military personnel receive. Fourth, it would allow for disabled veterans to apply for a reduced price lifetime combination hunting license once they reach 65 years of age. This legislation helps to provide common sense reforms and equity to Titles 30 and 34 in the way that they treat active duty and veteran personnel. These brave men and women have given so much to our Commonwealth and country, and this legislation helps to give something back to them in return. Please join me in supporting this important legislation. If you have any questions regarding this legislation, please contact Nathan Akers in my office at 787-9684 or nakers@pasen.gov. |
