Subject: | Medical Assistance Program Fraud: Recommendations from Grand Jury |
In light of the 42nd Statewide Investigation Grand Jury Report regarding State Medicaid program vulnerabilities, I plan to reintroduce legislation aimed at addressing deficiencies addressed in the report. Specifically, the legislation would address two recommendations from the report.
It is my hope, as a long-time proponent of reducing and eliminating fraud within state taxpayer-funded assistance programs, that we can correct these identified deficiencies, and foster direct and detailed reporting to the Department of Human Services and managed care organizations in the Commonwealth. This legislation was introduced as SB 985 in the previous session, co-sponsors included: Farnese, Schwank and Yudichak. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. |
