Subject: AmeriCorps Week Resolution
 
In the near future we will be introducing a resolution designating March 8 through March 15, 2020 as “AmeriCorps Week” in Pennsylvania.

The AmeriCorps national service program engages Pennsylvanians of all ages and backgrounds in meeting a wide range of community needs. AmeriCorps members volunteer with nonprofits, schools, public agencies and faith-based organizations to strengthen their communities. There are currently 21 AmeriCorps programs serving counties throughout the commonwealth in a variety of capacities, including mentoring youth, providing literacy education to immigrants and refugees, assisting individuals with opioid abuse disorders, and improving public lands. Approximately 2,500 Pennsylvanians participate in AmeriCorps programs each year.

Please join us in recognizing March 8 through March 15, 2020 as “AmeriCorps Week.”
