Subject: Reduction of Property Taxes for Seniors
 


In the near future, I will introduce legislation that will reduce property taxes for senior citizens, by 25 percent, that are 75 years of age or older and have lived in their homes for 10 years or more.

Our seniors struggle to pay for their healthcare and medications, and we need to alleviate their burden of constant property tax increases.

I believe reducing property taxes for our seniors is the most important place to begin reigning in property taxes.

While a complete moratorium of property taxes for our seniors and all property owners would be preferred; the legislature first needs find a solution to replace revenue for our school districts before a complete moratorium can take place.
