Subject:	Budget Impasse Legislation

I plan to re-introduce Senate Bills 225 and 226 from last session which would address any future budget impasse.

Description:	The first bill would amend the Constitution to require the Commonwealth to maintain state appropriations at 80 percent of the prior year level if a general fund budget is not enacted by the constitutional deadline of June 30 of any year. Last Session, SB 225 was sponsored by Senators Aument, Brooks, Folmer, Hutchinson, Martin, Vogel, Ward and White.
