Subject: | Liquor License Renewal Surcharge Reduction for Clubs |
I am planning to reintroduce legislation (SB 791) to amend the Liquor Code to reduce the cost of liquor license fees for veterans’ organizations and other nonprofit clubs. As part of Act 39 of 2016, language was included to establish a $700 annual surcharge on all liquor licenses. However, this annual fee has become a difficult expense for many of the nonprofit clubs that play important roles in our community, like the American Legion. Therefore, my legislation would reduce the surcharge from $700 to $200 for all clubs covered under the act. I hope you’ll join me in sponsoring this important bill. Should have any questions, please contact my office at (717) 787-7105. Previous co-sponsors include Senators Baker, Brewster, Gordner, Mensch, Rafferty, Vulakovich, and K. Ward. |
