Subject: | Resolution (Informed Consent): Repeal of the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act |
In addition to my “Informed Consent” legislation to require patients be given information on the potential risks and benefits of vaccinations before they consent to a vaccination, I will also be introducing a Resolution calling upon Congress to repeal the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act. This federal law prevents those harmed by a vaccine from suing pharmaceutical companies making these products. As noted in the cosponsorship on my proposed legislation, I believe the ability to make decisions about what goes into our bodies is a basic human right – Only with informed consent are people able to exercise their basic human right to decide whether or not to allow intrusion into their bodies. As I find the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act violates these rights by limiting options to refuse vaccinations or seek due process of law, I will be calling for its repeal. I hope you will join with me in this pro-patient proposal. |
