Subject: | Amending the Prevailing Wage Act in Regards to Road Maintenance |
Shortly, I will re-introduce SB 351 of 2015-2016 (cosponsored by Senators Smucker, Eichelberger, Gordner, Baker, Alloway, Aument, White and Brooks), to amend the Prevailing Wage Act to update the term “maintenance” to include work associated with road repairs such as guide rails, curbs, pipes, line painting, etc. Also included: laying bituminous material up to 3.5” thick or up to 420 pounds per square yard on asphalt pavement, cement concrete, etc.; patching of cement concrete surface to include joint spalling and repair work; widening of existing alignment which does not result in additional lanes or new shoulders, and; bridge cleaning, washing, blacktop resurfacing, minor nonstructural repairs, improvements and painting, except when combine with complete bridge rehabilitation. I hope you will join me in cosponsoring this important update. If you have any questions, please contact Fallon Binner at 787-5708 or fbinner@pasen.gov. Thank you! |
