Subject: | Exclude Veterans' Service-Related Disability Payments as Income for PACE/PACENET Eligibility |
In the near future, I intend to reintroduce legislation amending the State Lottery Law to exclude veterans’ service-related disability compensation from being considered as income when determining eligibility for PACE and PACENET. Veterans that have experienced a service-incurred injury qualify for certain disability assistance. They depend on this fixed source of income to support themselves and their families due to their inability to continue working. PACE and PACENET eligibility for Pennsylvania residents ages 65 and older is determined by their previous calendar year’s income. My bill would exempt veterans’ service-related disability compensation as income for this. I invite you to join me as a co-sponsor. This is a reintroduction of SB 336 from the previous legislative session. Co-sponsors included: Costa, Hughes, Fontana, Farnese, Yudichak, Browne, Brewster, Kitchen, Schwank, Tartaglione, Teplitz, Wozniak, Baker, Greenleaf, Rafferty, Vance, Vulakovich, White, Mensch and Haywood. |
