Subject: Amending the Definition of "Emergency Vehicle"
 

Please join me in co-sponsoring legislation to ensure that a private vehicle used by a local emergency management coordinator is considered an “emergency vehicle” when the coordinator is responding to an emergency call in their official public duty.

Specifically, this bill amends the Vehicle Code by adding a local emergency management coordinator to the current list of public officials whose service in an emergency situation provides the legal authority for those officers to use a private vehicle as an emergency vehicle.

This bill was introduced last session as Senate Bill 1277 and was co-sponsored by Senators Scavello, Eichelberger, Costa, Rafferty, Vulakovich, White, Alloway, Schwank and Brewster.
