Subject: | Resolution - Sept. as Vertebral Subluxation Awareness Month |
In the near future, I intend to reintroduce a resolution designating September 2016 as “Vertebral Subluxation Awareness Month” in the Commonwealth. Chiropractic doctors are the trained and licensed professionals that locate, analyze and correct a vertebral subluxation, which occurs when a vertebra misaligns. A vertebral subluxation occludes an opening, impinges on a nerve or otherwise interferes with proper neurotransmission. The optimum performance and health of the body depends on the unfettered, free transmission of impulses between the brain and all cells, tissues and organs. Therefore, my resolution also commends and recognizes the Chiropractic Fellowship of Pennsylvania for its educational health efforts. September’s designation is significant because it commemorates the first chiropractic adjustment given to specifically correct a subluxation on September 18, 1895 in Davenport, Iowa by D.D. Palmer. I invite you to join me in co-sponsoring this resolution. |
