MEMORANDUM

Posted: November 12, 2015 09:12 AM
From: Senator John T. Yudichak and Sen. Randy Vulakovich, Sen. Jay Costa
To: All Senate members
Subject: Legislation to Amend the Amputee and Paralyzed Veteran's Pension Program

We are introducing legislation that amends Title 51 (Military Affairs) to provide additional eligibility for any amputee or paralyzed veteran. The legislation would allow qualifying veterans to apply to the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs for the amputee and paralyzed pension if they were eligible just prior to the passage of Act 180 of 2014. Act 180 changed the eligibility requirements for the pension and this bill would provide for a 90-day period in which veterans could apply for the pension if they had been eligible prior to the act being signed into law.
If you have any questions, please contact Richard Fox in Senator Yudichak's office at 787-7105 or rfox@pasenate.com.
