Subject: | Resolution Designating May 2015 as Preeclampsia Awareness Month |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution that would designate May of 2015 as "Preeclampsia Awareness Month". Preeclampsia is a dangerous condition of pregnancy that can lead to maternal or infant mortality or premature birth with significant health risks for the mother and baby. As many as, 320,000 cases of preeclampsia are diagnosed in America every year with 25% of those cases resulting in severe, life-threatening consequences to the pregnant woman and her baby. Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution that is meant to help women recognize the signs and symptoms of this condition and seek appropriate medical help immediately. If there are any questions please contact Matt Azeles in my office at 717-787-3110. |
