Subject: | Special Occasion Permit |
In the near future, I will reintroduce legislation that would add the Pittsburgh Downtown Community Development Corporation (PDCDC) and the McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation as eligible entities for a Special Occasion Permit with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. Currently, a nonprofit entity must be included in the Liquor Code, by approved legislation, to become eligible for these types of permits. The PDCDC is a community-based organization that serves Downtown Pittsburgh through residential development, the promotion of the arts and entertainment, and small business assistance. The MRCDC mission is to facilitate investment and restore community pride to attract and retain residents and businesses in the area. A version of this legislation was introduced during the 2013-14 session as SB 1478 and co sponsors included Senators Costa, Farnese, Schwank, Smith, Vulakovich, Rafferty and Hughes. |
Introduced as SB323
