Subject: State Ethics Commission Filing Updates
 

Please join me in co-sponsoring legislation to increase transparency by improving access to the financial interest statements filed with the State Ethics Commission. Specifically, my legislation will amend Title 65 (Public Officers) to:

  • Require statewide officials and members of the General Assembly to file financial interest statements electronically, a change which will make them both more quickly available and easier to search.

  • Improve access to the statements by making them searchable and sortable by name, office held, year and if amended.

  • Require the Ethics Commission to create an opt-in system to provide email notification when new or amended statements are posted.
