Subject: 60th anniversary of Just Born Marshmallow Peeps Resolution
I intend to introduce a resolution in the near future to recognize the accomplishments of Just Born, Inc., on the 60th anniversary of the Marshmallow Peeps candy.

Just Born, Inc. is a family-owned company founded in 1923 and headquartered in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where it manufactures name-brand candies such as Peeps, Hot Tamales and Mike and Ikes.

Mr. Sam Born operated his business out of an empty printing factory in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where it became an important employment source for the well-known steel town.

Today, Just Born Inc. hatches 5 million Peeps a day at its Bethlehem plant.

Long associated with Easter, Peeps have penetrated pop-culture consciousness in a way that other candy brands have not. The Peeps brand has grown to become the largest seasonal-marshmallow brand.

Consumers and fans of the candy do creative things with the candy, including decorating, diorama making and microwave-jousting.

Many people may not be familiar with the company name, but everyone knows the iconic Peeps brand. Therefore, it is my hope you will join me in co-sponsoring this resolution celebrating the 60th anniversary of Just Born Marshmallow Peeps.
