Subject: | Kindergarten starting age |
I am reintroducing Senate Bill 146, amending the Public School Code of 1949 (Act 14), to lower the age at which a child may be enrolled in kindergarten. Currently, a child between the ages of four and six years may be enrolled. Under this bill, a child between the ages of three and six years may be enrolled in kindergarten. I believe that some children are capable of learning at a young age and those children should not be denied the opportunity to begin their education simply because of their age. |
