| Subject: | Sewage Infrastructure Grant |
| In the near future, I plan to introduce a bill that would create the PA Sewer Repair Program. There are thousands of municipalities and municipal authorities across the Commonwealth that are in need of funding to repair and expand sewer infrastructure. Hundreds more municipalities are faced with tough decisions as their residents are desiring to switch from on-lot septic systems to central sewer systems. However, these sewage expansions and new systems are financially out of reach for some municipalities. This grant will address these critical needs. By providing $1 billion in state funding, we can get the money to where it is most needed. Municipalities and municipal authorities will have the opportunity to apply for up to $10 million in grant funding to provide much needed repairs, expansion of current sewage infrastructure and to build new sewage systems. Please join me in cosponsoring this most important piece of legislation and bring funding to our communities’ critical sewer infrastructure. |
