Subject: Establishing the Lifetime Recovery from Substance Abuse Grant Program
 
Please join us as co-sponsors of legislation to establish the Lifetime Recovery from Substance Abuse Grant Program within the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP).

This grant program is designed to assist in the development, expansion, and improvement of the system of recovery support service delivery in this Commonwealth. Recovery support providers offer critical services to those in recovery from substance abuse, including providing peer support, family support, mentoring services, housing and assistance in finding gainful employment.

Recovery support providers, in particular peer recovery support personnel, play a critical role in helping those in recovery from substance abuse, and they deserve our support and assistance. We want to help people get into recovery and stay there for the rest of their lives.

We look forward to working with you on this important legislation.
