MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 12, 2022 10:24 AM
From: Representative Malcolm Kenyatta
To: All House members
Subject: Cybersecurity Coordination Board

Reports of threats and attacks to our most sensitive data systems occur almost weekly.  These systems are constantly monitored by hackers seeking new ways to invade and exploit sensitive personal data, causing consumers heartache and financial loss.  Especially in these challenging economic times, it is imperative to establish the highest level of cybersecurity in Pennsylvania.

My legislation will create a centralized, integrated system of cybersecurity across all Commonwealth agencies and branches with the establishment of the Cybersecurity Coordination Board.  The board will gain the knowledge needed to strengthen cybersecurity by conducting audits and analyzing current federal, state and local protocols.

Identifying and implementing a unified model cybersecurity policy will help to insure our data systems can bear up under the threat of compromise.  Once achieved, Pennsylvanians can take comfort knowing their most sensitive personal data is protected.

Pursuing the most secure and effective cybersecurity network is worth the commitment.  Please join me in addressing these threats by supporting this legislation.
