Subject: Technical Sergeant Arthur K. Stiles Memorial Bridge
 
In the near future I plan to introduce legislation designating a bridge over Little Muddy Run between Beccaria and Gulich Townships in Clearfield County as the Technical Sergeant Arthur K. Stiles Memorial Bridge. Technical Sergeant Stiles was attached to the 561st Bombardment Squadron, 388th Bombardment Group. He was on the crew of a B-17 when the plane was shot down by enemy fire over France on December 5, 1943. For his service and sacrifice Arthur received the Air Medal, Purple Heart, WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Army Good Conduct Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign commendations.
